RARE CASE REPORTED – CHRONIC INVERSION OF FIBROID UTERUS

DSC02819A lady aged 50 yrs was reported to emergency BHS Lakeview hospital with severe abdominal pain, per vaginal bleeding and vaginal mass since 3 days. Patient was admitted and diagnosed as chronic inversion of fibroid uterus.

Uterine inversion refers to descent of the uterine fundus to or through the cervix, so that the uterus is turned inside out. Uterine inversion is a rare condition that occurs usually as a complication of deliveries. Non-puerperal inversion is extremely rare. Prolapsed fibroids tend to be the most common inciting factors with occasional report of inversion associated with uterine cancer and endometrial polyp.
